With that big snow storm that WHOMPED Colorado yesterday and the Texas panhandle today, the weatherman on 11 news in my area (Grand Jct., Colo.) threw an interesting stat on the tube tonight! Amarillo was 19 today, yet McCallen was 101 today,

I can only say one thing regarding those extremes-YIKES!!!!!

Thats Texas for you... if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes!

Here in Corpus Christi, it hit 93 today. Great beach weather!

I live 30 miles south of Amarillo and it was pretty bad. The wind chill at one point yesterday was zero and winds gusting as high as 45 MPH.
If you house has a gap in it you felt it.

That happens in many parts of the country, not just Texas. I like the changes because we surely don't get any for about 5 months of the year. Dreadful.

I take it you are talking about McAllen, Texas? If so, the different locations have all in the world to do with the difference in temperatures, especially with these northers that blow in. The temperatures in Texas in various locations on any one given day can be greatly varied.

Temperature and climate in Texas can be as diverse as the terrain in Texas. That's what makes it fun.

It had to be hotter than that. When I was driving to work yesterday my thermostat read 96. And it sure felt like it too!

Am watching NBC Nightly news, and it has been reported that Dalhart has 10-12 foot snowdrifts. Now that IS extreme!

So glad I moved out of that McAllen area a few years ago...the heat + humidity = hell. So nice to wake up and have it in the 40s this morning here the San Antonio area.

That was based on the National Weather Service out at the International Airport. I heard some part of Nueces county did hit the mid 90's, while the southwestern parts of the NOAA CC area hit the upper 90's! Today, it was "only" in the upper 70's.... freezing!
